He was indeed the finest Tenor on this planet. A talented, humble man, with a smile no one will ever forget. He will be missed. Our loss will certainly be Heaven's gain.

About 1985 I was working at Radio City Music Hall as an Usher. My work friend Anthony said that Pavarotti was doing a signing at the book store on the corner, so we went. Fortunately, the line wasn't too long. We even tore down a couple of his "Momma" posters on the wall and got them signed. I have to look for it, I might still have it. I believe we shook his hand as well.

We are both Italian so we go up to him speaking a line or two in Italian to impress him. Asking how is he doing, etc. He never looks up at us but replies "Bene, Bene". (Good, Good) and signs our posters. Looking back, it was great to meet him.

I was never a fan of opera but I know his voice. Call me biased, but I consider him the greatest tenor of our time - maybe all time. We can only pray God will bless us with another.

Man! I've been sick and out of it all week, and this is what I come back to!
We will truly miss his master voice!
He was the greatest tenor, perhaps the greatest singer, of our time.

Not just a fantastic talent but, by all accounts, a great person. He really was a legend in his own lifetime.

I'm glad I was finally able to see him last year on his final tour of the States. It was a once in a lifetime event literally and figuratively speaking.

What a life the man led. He lives on in his recordings and in each of us who appreciate his work. He will definitely be missed.
