I noticed that silent films on blu-ray have not been selling very well. I believe I have the perfect solution.
If companies like Kino followed these steps I am sure that old silents like Metropolis could be top sellers. 1. Crop the image so that it fits a 16x9 screen. Nobody wants to see black bars. 2. Colorize the movie. Why watch an old movie in black and white when you can see it in color. 3. Use digital Noise reduction and scrub out all of the visible grain. 4. Get rid of those awful intertitles and dub in some contemporary dialogue. I think they ideas could really make these old classics even better. Anyone else have any suggestions? Hopefully blu-ray movie manufacturer and studios will take notice. |
