I just recently upgraded to an Integra DHC-80.2 pre-amp which is a certified reconditioned unit. I usually get pops in my front left speaker when I start everything up. My amp stays on all day. After start up I sometimes get that random pop again in the front left. I also get some static, or distortion on tv broadcasts. I'm using Audioquest Black Mamba II rca cables going to the amp. I never experienced these things with the Marantz AV7005. Would using xlr fix any pop/noise issues? Should I get the unit looked at? I tried changing out the rca cables, swaped my front left and right speakers to make sure it wasn't the speaker. I know the preout section of the Integra/Onkyo units run hotter than Marantz units as that explains why I would have to turn up the volume more on the Marantz vs Integra.

I've been told by people that by leaving an amp on all day it performs better since its warmed up.

No I haven't tried that, but I do get the pop randomly when everything has been on for a while. Sometimes I don't get it at all. While watching tv broadcasts on directv, I get some distortion, static at times, in other speakers besides the front left.

I can't say for certain that there is an issue with the receiver. Does it do these pops on codec changes? I get speaker pops on my Anthem every once in while and is a firmware issue that they can not totally get rid of. This happens if I switch channels with a different codec.

Ok, so I just got xlr female to rca male cables and hooked them up in my system. XLR end going into the Integra and RCA end going into my amp. Once again after everything being off for multiple hours I get a pop in my front left speaker. Then a pop a minute later and no pops after that. Should I be concerned by this or its not an issue?

Also, make sure all speaker connections are tight and there are no stray wires touching each other. |

Also I'm now using xlr female to RCA male cables vs RCA to RCA cables.
