Default Movies You Love Way Too Much

Hi Everyone.

I noticed that some of us are hardcore fans for some specific movies. (noticed mailny from avatars).
Are there any movies that you probably love more than you should have and whats the reason for that?

Some would say I OVERLY love the Matrix films way to much. I can qoute all the movies about 75%. I have a CRAP LOAD and I do mean a CRAP load figures, magazines, wearable items, promo items, poster's and many misc items from the movies. Heck have the time I can relate daily life to the movies. I'm overly fanatic about them. I love deabting, and talking about them.

As far as why do I love the films? Well it's one of the only films in it's time that wasn't based off another film or your typical bad guy vs. bad guys deal. It was an original and new concept for a movie that lead to new filming techniques and new technology to achive what they wanted to do for the films.

Movies I love too much? The Star Wars Saga. Not just the original trilogy, the entire story that is told over six chapters. I've certainly never held any animosity towards the prequels, but the cracks in the 'plot' of the prequel movies is beginning to show more and more with age and repeated viewings!

Quite simply, A New Hope was the movie that got me hooked on movies in general. I will love these movies, and the franchise as a whole, until the day I finally shuffle off my mortal coil! Even then I imagine I will take my love of the saga into the next realm (whatever and wherever that may be?!)

Who knows, my love of Star Wars is so strong I may end up walking the Earth forever as a blue spectral figure who dishes out succinct advice ala Obi-Wan in Empire & Jedi

It is probably fitting that I should end this post with:

May the force be with you!

Now what ever happened to that Lightsaber wielding smilie

For me it's Earth Girls are Easy.

I love that movie even though it's not very good.

It's likely because i have a secret crush on Geena Davis.

I thought I was a Star Wars geek until the prequels were all finally released.

Neil Luv, do you watch the cartoons?

To be a true Star Wars fan and not lose face, I would just watch all the Star Wars Clone Wars cartoons (the two different series plus the cartoon movie) and then the originals, totally skipping the prequels all together.

before this thread gets bogged down with massive blockbusters that aren't surprising, i'll list some of mine. but my selections are the "lesser known" and less than top quality money makers this thread will certainly quickly consist of...

The Hot Chick
Dodgeball
Not Another Teen Movie
The Rules of Attraction
Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny
Cabin Fever
Zombieland
Mean Girls

and then of course all the films in my top 50 favorites list

I don't think you can ever love something too much, just a lot, but if I had to answer the question it'd definetly be Star Wars, and that's all six films and the EU.

Being of the younger generation I grew up with the Special Editions and the Prequels, so naturally love them, although I did watch the original theatrical version quite frequently before the Special Editions came along.

I'm not obessed with the EU as much as other fans, but there are some areas of it I love, such as The Clone Wars and Knights of the Old Republic.

I don't know why love it so much, but ever since I was 3 Star Wars always been the movie franchise that I love the most and I don't care if George Lucas is a multi-billionaire, because I adore Star Wars so much that it doesn't bother me if he keeps getting more money.

Star Wars Grew up watching the movies and was really into the lore and universe back in high school. Still love the movies, and look forward to seeing them in Blu.

I also really love Galaxy Quest (favorite comedy) and reccomend it to anyone that hasn't seen it Just a funny (and very quotable) movie!

I really respect your admiration of The matrix trilogy.

P.S. My father is not into movies at all, but literally draws paralelles of what he does in his real life with matrix all the time.
He is a programmer by the way if it tells you something.

Yep, love The Clone Wars. Tartakovsky's 25 short episodes and The current CG series (which gets better with each passing season)

Obviously I was predisposed to enjoy them both before they were even broadcast, seeing as The Clone Wars is my favourite, previously unexplored period of Star Wars mythology (The Old Republic runs a very close second)

Isn't Jim Carrey in that one as well?

Personal holy trinity of films...

All "Lord of the Rings" films.
All "Star Wars" films.
All "Matrix" films.

For me it's Tombstone...That is easily my favorite movie of all time! Can't explain it...I guess the acting, the story, the quotable lines...can never see it too many times.

I'm obsessed with "There Will BE Blood" to the point where i only allow myself one viewing a year now.

Next viewing will be somewhere in the spring, i think.

Inception is rapidly becoming my next "thang."
