Dating Question

Ok so I posted this TWICE on Yahoo Answers and it got buried by other new questions so quickly that only one person got an answer in

I work at a department store and there are 'staff leads'. These people are not official managers but run day to day operations like making sure that the scheduled staff for the day is in place, that the place is opened punctually etc... These people also sometimes just work on the floor with the rest of average staff.

Well there is this one woman who is a staff lead. She is funny, bubbly, energetic, hard working, all that great stuff. She even is a sports fan! Anyway, I'd love to ask her out, but I've never been good with that with any woman, and now I have this work component to it.

On top of that, I'm 23, she's I believe 28 or 29. I don't have a problem that she's older but it makes a difference to some. I don't ever have a time alone with her, unless it's brief and right in the middle of work, so I can't just ask her out. I also don't know how to, or if I should. Help me out? I know it's complicated.

P.S. I'm friends with her on Facebook but don't want to do it there.
Also, I've seen statuses about "I'm clean and healthy. X number of years" that make me think she gave up drugs and/or drinking so I don't want to make the faux pax of asking her to grab drinks if she's sober.
