Default Tv Disposal

I wonder, for those people disposing of a 65" television, or any other tv for that matter, how do you dispose of it?

Do you leave it in the front yard?
Take it to the dump?
Give it to a friend / relative?

Seems like a waste if the TV is still functional. It is preventing someone I know from upgrading a tv, so that is why I would like to know.

Could you not bring it to a charity or give it away to a neighbour/friend? I doubt you'd have a hard time unloading a working 65" TV...

I usually melt mine down into a bowel using a blowtorch into its original liquid metalic state. Then leave it outside for the birds to drink.

If the tv is still good see if a charity wants it. Thats what i do with thing like that that I don't need anymore and a lot of times the will pick it up at your place. If it is no good just put it out for garbage.

Sold 42" samsung CRT on Craig's list for $500. I got a good six years of HD out of it and got a 1/3 of the price back. Not bad. Plus now some college students have a good, calibrated HDTV.
