United Kingdom Doctor Zhivago Steelbook

I am starting to add David Lean's movies to my collection after watching 'Lawrence Of Arabia' yesterday for the very first time. My uncle is a big time Lean fan and he told me that Doctor Zhivago is a must see movie so as Lawrence Of Arabia.

I want to know how is the picture quality of this Steelbook? Is it the same transfer as the previous UK release and just packed in the steelcase or is it a new transfer? I believe that the previous UK release was a two disc edition with extras on the other disc so does this steelbook edition has all the extras same as US? In short is this Steelbook worth a blind buy? Please do reply.

Thanks.

it's a very nice steelbook. as with all the warners ones, it's a shame its only the one disc.

the transfer is excellent and there is a reasonable retrospective documentary. the second disc in the amaray version is actually a dvd from the two-disc dvd set that was previously released. this includes a host of extras including a much better hour long documentary, various featurettes produced at the time, interviews.

I would say get the steelbook and then pick up the dvd version cheap for the second extras disc if you want to learn more about the film

Thanks for the reply. When you said "this includes a host of extras including a much better hour long documentary, various featurettes produced at the time, interviews." Are you talking about this BD or the DVD version?
Thanks.

The special features on the 45th Anniversary Edition is on a DVD... this 2-disc edition is no longer available from AmzUK.

However, you can still order the Digibook from Amazon.

Thanks guys for the replies. I think I might import the digibook. I need both BD and Extras DVD in one case!
