Default Review of 3d in games:

Whilst I don't expect a huge reaction to this thread I thought it would be nice to share are experiences with 3d gaming and how it performs on particular games.

Maybe we could turn this into a thread about how well it works in particlar games.

Here it goes:
Tron Evolution: Whilst the depth is excellent and there are plenty of control to change the strengh of the 3d the framerate drop on the ps3 is significant and I found the game more enjoyable as a result in 2d. I love this game and to be able to play it in 3d with no fram rate drop would be amazing, but not enough to justify buying a new computer to game on (I prefer consoles).

Wipeout: The drop in frame rate is minimal and provided a nice amount of depth, but I was expecting more from when missles and the like flew past me. It none the less makes the game more exciting. Ghosting is present but minimal.

Black Ops: Frame ratre drop combined with any lag makes this playable, but you will struggle to be competitive in multiplayer. That bieng said it works noticably better on single player and one level where ash/paper on fire (or whatever it is) is falling from the sky looks marvelous. Most however is not nearly as impressive as this highlight.

Avatar: Whilst the depth is excellent and there are plenty of control to change the strengh of the 3d the framerate drop on the ps3 is significant and I found the game more enjoyable as a result in 2d. Ghsoting also seems to be present more then I would like. However I found the frame rate drop to be noticably less on the 360 and by far the better way to play this game in 3d on a console, not only that but ghosting seemed to be notably less.

Gran Turismo 5: There are plenty of controls that you will have to play around with, but once you do ghosting is barely present and the game runs as smoothly as when played in 2d. However the 2d version runs in 1080p, wheras when playing in 3d it runs at 720p. Overall 3d provided a much more thrilling experience for myself.

Well, in response to "of 3D IN games"....
My 46 "Samsung does a pretty good 2D to 3D conversion of SOME(not all) 2D movies/games.

Right now my son and I are going thru Assassin's Creed(1) right now again(memory block 5) in the TVs 3D mode. Not too shabby(depth and texture wise) for a 2D game.

As far as native 3D games.....Black Ops looks/plays pretty friggin' good...IMO.
Haven't tried it online yet though.
