This list (as you know) is made up from members who have gratiously posted their collection in our database, so thanks to all of you for doing so!

I thought it would be fun to post this list in a thread and ask some questions, which are listed below.

Are you surprised by these numbers?
How many of these are in your collection?
Is there a movie you would have thought was included?

These numbers do not surprise me. They're all immensely popular movies with quality BD releases.

I own 17 out of the 20 :
[Show spoiler]
The Dark Knight (BatPod Display Case )
Iron Man
Batman Begins
Transformers
Star Trek
300 (Ultimate Experience Edition)
The Incredible Hulk
I Am Legend (kept DVD steelbook though)
Quantum of Solace
The Departed
Watchmen (Director's Cut)
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (part of the POTC box set)
Inglourious Basterds (UK Limited Edition)
District 9 (UK Steelbook)
Blade Runner
I, Robot
Terminator Salvation

There's probably a bunch of movies I would have thought should be up there; right now only "Inception" comes to mind. Maybe it'll catch up later.

yeah Inception, Avatar and other big movies will catch up soon. The newest movie on the list has been out over a year so it takes time for a most to make top 20.

Because our membership is overwhelmingly North American based (U.S. & Canada) it stands to reason that this list contains only Hollywood films. I wonder how the list would look if our European friends and members were in the majority.

And something else that's amazing is only 7 of them are original ideas. The rest are adaptations from books, comics, and TV.

I have them all but The Departed and I,Robot.

I am not shocked by the titles but the large difference in the numbers of people who own title 1 thru 3 is a little shocking. Almost 2k between DK and IM and another 1300 between IM and Batman Begins? I mean why would 3000+ people by the Dark Knight and not Begins? I wonder if the DK number is skewed by people owning multiple versions?

I only have five of them (Ratatouille, Cars, 300, Up, Pirates). Out of the other fifteen, the only one that I would even want to own would be Blade Runner. I'm not surprised by the list, really. The common denominator is that most of the blus listed are reference quality in either PQ, AQ, or both. The only one that really surprises me in Inglourious Basterds. I definitely would not have thought that'd be in the top 20.

I would have thought Planet Earth, Avatar, or Band of Brothers would be up there.

If the Avatar releases were combined it'd be in the top 20 for sure.

But I'm very pleased that Blade Runner has made the list!

I own 17 of the 20. I'm surprised The Incredible Hulk is as high as it is, I didn't realize it was that popular. I'm probably most surprised that Transformers 2 and Iron Man 2 aren't on the list. Even though neither was incredibly well liked I still would have thought many members would have bought them. I'm also a little surprised none of the Toy Story movies are on the list, especially considering the first 2 were available for $8 each after coupons when they were released. I assume Avatar isn't on the list because there's 2 versions available and that likely split the sales numbers.

Glad to see Basterds,Blade Runner and The Departed. Though I'm Disappointed Quantum of Solace made it, and Casino Royale didn't. Don't get me wrong, I think Quantum is a good watch and it had a great release. But I just think it's dwarfed by Casino Royale. But to each his own, I guess.

12/20 here.

19/20. Not surprised at all by that list. You would see Avatar up there if they combined releases.
