Default Is Something Like This Suitable for HT Usage?

http://www.apc.com/products/resource...T&tab=features

Would this work as a solid power protection piece in a HT? Most of APC's line is for computers, or so they say, but can HT systems be plugged into the SurgeArrest system? Conversely, is it okay that these don't have power conditioning built in and that they're just surge protectors?

Default I'm No Expert, But

This is what I have:

http://www.apc.com/resource/include/...ase_sku=H15BLK

I have a 60" LG Plasma, Onkyo 707, LG 590, Emotiva UPA-7, Infinity Sub, and Motorola Cable/DVR.

I don't own the cable box, but I have money invested in the other items and wanted to try to protect them as best I could. You can find the H15BLK for around $250 - $275.

It depends on how much protection you want and how nice the equipment is. I use something like that on my upstairs equipment. However, for the nicer equipment in the basement I got a Elite 15i conditioner/surge arrest.

Thanks Guys...

Boy, I wish this gave me a more definitive answer! Right now, we don't have the budget to do a $200+ conditioner and line regulator, etc., and I already am using the APC unit...I also could use a Monster PowerCenter that contains a basic amount of conditioning in it, which I snagged from my mom's house since she just got a new Samsung LCD and I stripped her surround system down because she doesn't use it, collecting the pieces for a possible move when she goes into a new place (Onkyo 600 AVR, Panasonic DVD player, etc.) -- it seems whomever set up their system initially used a Monster PowerCenter (model 700 something or other; not that impressive) and I snagged it, thinking I could maybe use it instead of the APC...

No line conditioning..... but an electrician installed a whole-house surge suppressor right at the line coming in to the panel for $150 and that included the part/labor etc.....

It's cheap for peace of mind.

What are you saying...your system doesn't use any line conditioning?

Are one of these expensive conditioners worth it, or is surge suppression enough?
