This is going to be a rather long thread with a couple of distinct questions, so if you can help me with answering any of the following I would greatly appreciate it.
I recently switched from ATT U-verse to DirecTV and I began to notice faint pixels in the shape of a line on both sides of most HD channels, I am very OCD-like when it comes to television so I researched and came up with them being VITS lines. There is no way around them as the only options on my tv to change the picture gets rid of them but makes the HD image worse in the process. I was told I had to live with it. Why its only on one tv out of three is beyond me. Moving on, I chalked it up and accepted it. I even checked to see if the line was there with blurays. Nothing…or so I thought. I recently purchased the Trick R Treat bluray and upon watching it I discovered this in one scene ![]() The faint lighter pixilation in the right hand side of the screen. I then chalked it up to the new player I recently got for free from a friend, the Samsung BD-P1600 as the 1500 I still have and never had issues with. I then found an older bluray I never watched, the remake of The Day The Earth Stood Still and found this in a few scenes ![]() The line is still there but darker. Needing a bluray player in my room, I put the 1500 back on the main tv and the 1600 in my room. (thinking the issue was with the 1600) Thinking, in the process, to check to see if it was just the players. Well, that failed as the 1500 still had those exact issues on the main tv and the 1600 didn’t show any issues in my room. Which leads me to believe its some sort of wire/connection issue on my main setup since the 1600 showed it on my main tv and didn’t on my secondary. Am I correct in this assumption? I have a VIZIO 46 and a 27 and they are at different angles (the 27 in my room is higher up), so maybe I didn’t see those issues at a different angle or they simply aren’t there. Either way, its not the discs, so what could it be? Could it be the VITS lines? I was told those are from the satellite feeds and there is nothing that should effect watching blurays. What do you think? Last edited by beware; 01-31-2011 at 05:41 AM. |
