Default Untitled Hugh Jackman/Shawn Levy Adventure Movie

In spite of the fact that it won’t debut for another nine months, 20th Century Fox is apparently quite pleased with the Real Steel actor/director pairing of Hugh Jackman and Shawn Levy (Date Night). Today, the studio announced that the two will reunite on an as-of-yet untitled action/adventure project. While low on details (the project was picked up as a pitch), Deadline reports that the film will be penned by former Lost writer/show runner Carlton Cuse and that Levy’s 21 Laps Entertainment moniker will also produce.

Jackman and Levy’s upcoming film, Real Steel, is currently set to open later this year on October 7th. In addition to Jackman, the film also stars Hope Davis, Evangeline Lilly, Kevin Durand, and Anthony Mackie. Real Steel is set in a near-future in which robots that literally weigh one ton (and yet still resemble humans) duke it out.

I like Jackman in many of his films, but the robot boxing trailer looked bad, painfully bad.

Yea, it didn't look great...but I like the sound of this. The fact that it has Jackman, being written by one of the writers of LOST, and Shawn Levy is really a decent director makes me intrigued. And hoenstly, it's about time Jackman made a really action/adventure type movie in the vein of Indiana Jones. He's got the look to be the perfect adventurer. I hope this all comes together and turns out well

This is the movie these two should have been making in the first place.

Definitely. I really hope Real Steal turns out much better then it looks and becomes a surprise hit for me because I generally like the stuff that Jackman makes, as well as Levy (though, I didn't enjoy Date Nite...Just not very funny to me...). Having Cartlon Cuse as a part of it just makes me more interested, because I love LOST so this is definitely something I'll be keeping my eye on as it moves through development
