I'm 99.9% sure that the 3D art is official and that the Double Play is still a temp, so there should be numbers on both and the removal of whiskers!

Oh so these are still not official? I find it odd that the French version is already being released and the UK is still like this.

The 3D is, the Double Play doesn't look like it (no classic no., whiskers) and the Trilogy set is missing the 'U' certs, BD logo, etc. Everything else, including the release date, is official.

Can you post a link for the images? I can only find this:

http://hmv.com/hmvweb/displayProduct...;-1&sku=273110

I hope it's the same as the French Set, that looks nice:

A digibook, nice. But I'd still go with the individual release, don't really want the sequels.

That's the trilogy set, which won't have any numbers on its spine because it includes TLK 2 and 3 which are not considered 'classics'.

I meant the single releases of The Lion King on it's own will have classic numbers on them (as you can see in the bigger picture of the 3D set in the first post).
And I imagine the 2D/Double Play edition will also have it.

Got ya. I thought you mean the Trilogy will have it too.

Sorry to be ignorant but is it just the UK release that will have these numbers?

Also, do the numbers represent a limited run then? I wonder if that means it will treated like a regular disney vault or different?

I believe some other countries do also get the numbers on the spines aswell, though unfortunately I can't remember which countries they are

They're not limited, they are simply just the Walt Disney Classics number, and you can see a whole list of the 'classics' and they're numbers here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...mated_features
Though obviously most of those have yet to get a Blu-ray release.

I guess the idea is (or will be) to own all of them and have them all lined up together, though with Disney UK not even releasing all 'new classics' like Winnie the Pooh, it's doubtful it'll ever happen, here in the UK atleast.

so, no more news on wether the 3D triple play will have DVD or DC?
I know a few members emailed Disney UK and were told the triple would be 3D Blu, 2D Blu and DVD even though all prior sets and images claim its a DC instead of DVD.

Amazon, HMV and Play now have all 3 editions up for pre-order. The collector's edition trilogy seems to be a HMV exclusive.

Also re-released in cinemas for one week only from today!

The Lion King Blu-ray

The Lion King 3D Blu-ray

The Lion King Trilogy Blu-ray

The Lion King Trilogy Blu-ray Collection HMV

Default No DVD then?

So I guess there will be a DC rather than a DVD with this version.

I'm just going by the artwork. Most listings say it's coming with a DVD and that was after the artwork was unveiled.

Is anyone else a little surprised that KingSimba hasn't come online and pre-ordered his copy yet? I thought he would've been one of the very first to get there and put his pre-order in!
