No One Killed Jessica UTV is out on Netflix in HD (streaming).
Other UTV movies coming soon in HD on Netflix. Dhobi Ghaat, and Tees Maar Khan on 3/1/11. |

The problem with UTV movies is they are released in domestic home video by Disney India. Very surprisingly Disney India has shown scant respect to the blu ray format. They have rights to guzaarish but have yet to release the blu ray for it ( some guy on this forum had been proclaiming a 19th Jan release but has gone strangely quiet after the date has passed). They are also sitting on a great title like Udaan with absolutely no intention of releasing it on blu ray.
If this attitude continues for Disney India then we are assured not to see a release of No One Killed Jessica and more importantly 7 Khoon Maaf both of which are UTV titles. It breaks my heart to see non sensical titles like Golmaal 3 getting released on this format and good cinema like Udaan not finding a release all due to a lack lustre atttitude of a particular company. |

Guzaarish has been available on Netflix HD streaming for almost a month as well. There's no sign of the BD.
Guzaarish, No Killed Jessica, Dhobi Ghaat, and even Tees Maar Khan are all films that would be great additions to anyone's BD collection. I really don't understand what's going on with UTV/Disney. BBR and Bluray Seller - are there any indications from the distributor as to what they are upto? |

@smartkid
you are absolutely right. these are tentpole titles. I would love to own them in my BD collection. And then Disney goes ahead and is releasing all these BIG titles on SINGLE disc dvd without any extras, with no BD release in sight. Its like, a film is doomed if its on Disney DVD. I thought someone had confirmed Guzaarish ? If these films are available on streaming in HD surely it cant be so difficult to release films like Guzaarish, Tees Maar Khan or even No One Killed Jessica on BD. |

Please don't say HD.
Its close to DVD like quality but definitely not HD (which means Blu-ray like quality) |

Good thing Disney doesn't have the UTV North American rights otherwise we would be stuck with having to rent the DVD of sub par quality against the high quality HD Netflix streams we get minus the 5.1 audio (software update pending from Netflix).

i watched it last night and it was HD quality, so were other UTV movies like Guzaarish, Peepli Live and I hate Luv Storys. I wish UTV would start releasing blu-rays day and date with DVDs.

i dont know but i think Guzaarish and Tees Maar Khan would sell great, so would No One Killed Jessica it was a hit. Shoot alot of their titles would sell well, Rang De Basanti, Lakshya, Parineeta, Don, Kaminey.
