Thumbs down Worst Packaging for a Television series on DVD?

I have to admit I've seen some cheap packaging before on shows, but this has to take the cake....SERIOUSLY?

That is from the now infamous Mill Creek, who releases all of their multi-disc DVD sets in that manner. There was an earlier DVD set of that show, from another distributor in proper packaging.

Wow that is crappy packaging. Worst one I own isn't a DVD but is House: Season 6 Blu-ray.

Ah, I've never bought any from them before as that was the 1st time I had seen that. I mean it's kinda cool, if only for it's difference from regular packaging. A bit odd.

I don't know if I would necessarily call it the worst, but I hate the complete series book-style packaging that The Shield has. There's absolutely no way I would ever buy that because it takes up so much space and would look like crap in my collection. I really want to watch the show but I'll probably just rent it from Netflix at some point because there's no way that box is going in my collection.

Worst is 21 Jump street from Mill Creek.

Well, I haven't bought that many TV shows, but the one which still irritates me is how "Star Trek TNG" was originally released. The silver outer box was cool, but the inner digipak would fold out to a few feet in length, just for the trouble of removing a single disc! That's why I moved mine into some standard 8-disc DVD cases, replacing one of the "flipper" pages to make it hold 7 discs.

Wow, that is some pretty bad packaging. Though I would have to give the nod to Fox for the Futurama Movies being packaged in cardboard. I am also not that big of a fan of HBO's packaging, they are usually bulkier and the Curb Your Enthusiasm packaging is pretty bad as well. Though that Daybreak takes the cake!

Nothing beats the Sliders season 1-2 set-- it was half a box with a piece of foam, and the discs stuck in the foam. Seriously.

I vote for the Gilmore Girls: Complete Set, based on the fact that I love the show but I would be embarrassed to have it on my shelf based on its appearance. I have no idea what it is like inside, nor will I ever.

This.

Whoever thought cardboard DVD holders were a good idea, should be burned alive!

I have this version. Much better IMHO.

I remember seeing the packaging and thinking it was kind of a cool look but also a ridiculous way to package DVDs.

+1
One of the poorest packaging decisions ever made for a popular show. The executive who allowed cardboard-only designs should lose their job. It is virtually impossible to buy those sets with pristine discs, they all come ruined with scratches out of the box.

Thats the first set that came to mind seeing this, granted that was still pretty early into the tv on dvd fad, and i was willing to get it in any package, but that was bad.

Agree on the SG-1 gold set as well... i bought all the seasons as they released and then sold them to get that thing and regretted it greatly as i had lost a total of 6-7 episodes before i moved them to cases that would not scratch the discs every time you put them back or take them out.

Curb sets as well, as the device to pull them out gets screwed up.

Man looking over my collection now lol i cannot figure out what these people are thinking when they package these sets.
