Why is the HD-DVD version delayed til '08? I mean I am by no means complaining, but are we starting to see the beginning of some love being shown strictly for Blu?

New Line stated the reason being that Blu-ray has region coding and HD-DVD does not. They want to have region coding in place to protect their distributors (mostly outside of North America), so the HD-DVD version will probably be delayed several months.

I am not a genious when it comes to Blu, and that was going to be my net question, so ty for answering. I guess this may end up being in our favor.

Hairspray has not been released in the cinema's in Australia yet, it will in a few days. This means it will be still showing in the smaller theatres (they have to wait until the runs finish in the cities) for quite some time to come.

DEFINITELY in our favor, any exclusive, even a timed exclusive is beneficial. We just have to wait and see if the region coding issue will affect all titles (new releases AND cataloged titles) or just the new releases. If it does, we could see a timed exclusive of Lord of the Rings, Rush Hour 3, Pan's Labyrinth, etc.
