New 20gb PS3 at Gamestop for $449

they might just have had some they never sold left over, because as far as I know they have discontinued them near the beginning of the year.

They still have a bunch they never sold. They were selling this unit at $499 for a long time, but when the 60 gig dropped, they dropped this to its current price. Obviously, since it is still in stock, it isn't selling well. I think they need to drop it to $399 if they want to move any of these models.

These are actually a good deal, as the new 80 gig units only do software based backwards compatibility for PS1 and PS2 games, if I recall, while the 20 GB model should still have the actual PS1/PS2 hardware built in. They need to knoack another $50 off the price though - who isn't gonna spend an extra $50 for wifi and 40 more gigs?
