Unless it’s a remaster I think I’m good with the Eureka release.

So, is the inclusion of the DVD the only difference between these two releases?

That, and I'm guessing the standard edition will lack the contents of the Digibook.

Got my copy today. Looks like it's the 128 min version for those who are interested. Haven't had a chance to watch it yet to comment on the PQ or AQ.

It's a BD-50 and does not appear to be a super loaded disc. I'm thinking it's the same master with a better encode since the Kino disc was a BD-25 with the commentary and Basil interview.

I'm a little confused. The site still shows it has being 126 min. Where did this extra 2 minutes come from?

Curiously, the Basil interview from the previous DVD and Blu-ray is omitted from this release. The extras on the back are correct.

The transfer is the old master complete with the MGM 2001 and Orion indents at the beginning. Not a bad old master though as someone who has not owned any of the other releases. I still stand by it probably looking marginally better than the Kino release due to using a BD-50.

Should be 128 mins anyway as that's the full uncut unrated version. Despite the incorrect R rated logo

I hope so. I thought Kino's release looked like ass. I have the Eureka version and it's better, but there's still room for improvement

It looks like that to me. Better encode but the same transfer. It looks decent but for this to truly shine, it needs a new transfer. Oh well so much for hoping for a newer transfer.

The packaging is beautiful, seen here next to the Eureka release, but it's too tall to fit on my shelves! Still, I think I prefer this to the standard version. The print quality is excellent and the little booklet is a nice touch.

I have the Kino. Wasn't the Eureka version the same transfer as the Kino on a BD50?

I'm not sure. If it was, it must have been a better encode, because to me it looked slightly better. As I mentioned though, there is still room for improvement. Waiting to see some screencaps from Capelight's release.

That’s awesome! Flesh+Blood is such an underrated gem—gritty, brutal, and full of that classic Verhoeven chaos. Hopefully, Capelight does it justice with a solid transfer and extras. Anyone know if it’s a new 4K scan?

Picked up Verhoeven's 'Benedetta'--have yet to view, but it looks excellent--so I'm of a mind to score this as a chronological prequel. It'll be a bit of a bummer that I'll be revisiting the same master the ol' MGM dvd is born of, but the standard def was even more vertically stretched than the blu...and the BD has heaps more texture. Alas, we should count ourselves lucky F+B is getting a reissue...and the artwork is sweet.

Nope. It looks like the same scan to me. If it was a new 4k, I think they woud advertise it as such. It does look slightly better than some of the previous releases but that's likely down to the encode and it being less bit starved.
