I read reviews that it just plain sucked. They are just cashing in on Ip Man.

Yeah even our old pal bey logan stated on his facebook that other than the fights, the movie is dog shit.

Just look at the cover of that blu-ray anyway. Does that look like the kind of movie to buy...or even rent? I don't think so. Trust your instinct - avoid it.

Having studied Wing Chun, I kind of have a soft spot in my heart for movies relating to it. I'm willing to be the guinea pig, worst case scenario it'll be on Ebay the next day.

Is the augusst 26th the BD release date?
Or its just being released in theatres?

The one costing 18.21 USD $ is the blu ray or DVD version, because it says DVD and I cant find blu ray.?

Lovehkfilm.com is the most objective Hong Kong film website out there. I trust them the most when deciding to see or not see a Chinese movie.

The movie is very good!

Well directed with excellent martial performances!

There is a fight between Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao (this is priceless!!)

The young actor who plays Ip Man, i didn't knew him, is impressive.

I saw the dvd release, not the BR. The first who will see the BR, please tell about the quality. If it is good, i will definitely buy it!

Yuen Biao and Sammo...I'm sold. The plot can suck, but I'd pay to watch those guys fight each other again.

the PQ & AQ are nice.... 7.1 as usual

The fights are the best part about the film so yes Bey was right.

but they are really worth it. don't see them like this as much as we used too. Thoroughly enjoyed!!!

I enjoyed the movie, thought it was better than Ip Man 2, but the original Ip Man is still superior.

Again i found it enjoyable, little silly in the 2nd half but the action is very good. There is an interesting audio commentary on the Blu ray by the director and Ip Man's son Ip Chun who is in the film. The commentary is subtitled in English also.
If you liked Ip Man you should enjoy this also.
