I do it every now and then. I usually like to upgrade to steelbooks to make it seem worthwhile, you know what I mean? I do sometimes sell blu-rays that I hardly watch or never watch. It's happens all year round.

Actually, I feel that the selection of films I've thus far spent money upgrading/purchasing on Blu-Ray is perfect and could only be improved through additional purchases. I'm rather picky with my purchases, though, so I try never to waste a purchase on a title I won't enjoy watching and rewatching in glorious hi-def for years to come.

I do make occasional blind-buys that are researched, but I sell the ones that I turn out to hate (only happened twice in 15 months so far).

No.

I sell (or more often these days give away) old DVDs after I get the Blu version.

Otherwise the movies stay. I may want to watch them again someday. My Blu Ray collection only gets bigger.

I own the worst movie ever made (The Happening) but I still may want to watch it again someday while I veg out. Somedays, even the lamest movies can provide escape that I need.

Yeah, same here. When I drop money for a blu ray it's for something a)I want to watch now and b)something I'll revisit many times in the future. Never either/or. Only blu I will be selling will be for a double dip (which hasn't happened yet).

I have few titles in my collection that I haven't even opened yet. I'm going to clean house soon. But I like most of the movies I own, and LOVE the rest.

Its a good thing!

I go through about this time every year and clean out any riff-raff from my dvd collection.

I just got rid of 7-8 blu’s and a couple dvd’s a couple weeks ago.

I do it all the time. It is a great way to "fund" additional Blu-rays

I've sold hundreds and hundreds of CDs, DVDs and a few BDs through the years. While I keep 80% of what I buy, if I dislike a movie, I get rid of it.

For example, I enjoyed seeing "Superman Returns" in theater. When I got my 1st BD player, I picked this up.

But upon re-watching it, I realized how terrible it really is (super baby, recycled plot, yet more Lex & boring). I now hate it & I traded it for something I do like.

I did that about 6 months or so ago and sold about 20 BDs that I had picked up for next to nothing when a couple rental stores closed. After watching them and realizing I'd never watch them again I sold them on eBay. Fortunately everything I own now I intend to keep.

My collection is mine but my brother helps me and often is a big part of selecting our favorite catalog titles. Those that are coming to blu-ray that we have enjoyed on every format since our growing up teen years. (80's reflective/90's movies prominent)

Take one look at my collection to see. I hardly own 25 movies from 2003 onwards, yet my collection is over 140. Most (75%?) of those so far are movies from 1986-2003

Yeah, I ocasionally sell some blu-rays, but not many. Any time I do, I always put the money towards more blu-rays.
A recent example: I blind-bought Cloverfield at a pawnshop(mint condition $5), hated it, sold it for $9 at a buy/sell/trade store, and got Inglourious Basterds.

I think I am going to trade some old dvd's to Amazon. I could not believe the big bucks offered for some obscure titles. However, most offer you a quarter so I will just keep those. As for my BD's. I love my collection and I don't plan on ever getting rid of any of them. I now only buy BD's that I must have.

I go through it every once in a while. I like to keep my collection tight and small and contains some of the best movies out there. Every once in a while I will buy movies that I won't watch again so I go through my collection and thin it out a bit

With the Blockbuster recent promotion. I was able to get rid of all my DVD's. Other than that I have no VHS tapes to get rid of.
