PS3 Region Playback question - Blu-ray Forum

Quick question,

Just received Arthur Trilogy from France. Checked each disc to confirm region free and:

First movie plays fine
Second movie plays fine
Third movie loads to a black screen and just freezes. Machine also sounds like it's having a tough time reading it.

Bad disc or region locked? I would have expected an error message it it was locked, but I've never tried one before.

Note - I've tried 2 PS3s and exact same issue.

Its like a 50hz problem. Some movies from Europe have 50hz intros, trailers or warnings. In such a case a US PS3 doesn't know what to do with it.

Your right, a locked message comes up on all discs that i've tried.

If the 3rd movie came out recently and the previous 2 are quite older then it also stands to reason it might be region locked.

On the Pirates of the Caribean trilogy one and two were free, part 3 is locked because of the release date. IE, it was not a catalog title like the first 2.
