Default Percentage of Total Hi Def Sales

Just saw the latest numbers for Blu-Ray vs. HD DVD sales on DVD Empire's website. Looks like HD DVD has gained momentum due to Paramount going HD DVD exclusive. Hopefully the Blu-Ray releases over the next few weeks will change this around again. Spider-Man where are you? Transformers presale and some other big Paramount items are the blame I think. Hopefully WB will go Blu-Ray all the way... Here is the link for info on DVD Empire:

Current sales numbers are:

Blu-Ray 42.61% and HD DVD 57.39%

I saw something related to this earlier. Quantities seem so low in both formats that things can swing fast. I'm don't have enough data to draw any conclusions or correlations.

Hell, I ordered 6 blus this week. I'm doing my part.

Cool beans. I bought 2 blu's today. The Replacement Killers and Enemy Of The State. Watching The Replacement Killers now.... Awesome movie. I had never seen it before. But I like Antoine's movies... Shooter, King Arthur and Training Day I have so far. Anything else he has done?

It's just dvd empire's results (not Nielsen's) and even so, it's still early in the week. People have posted threads like this before only to have it change by the end of the week (period).

Anyway, I'd wait until the official results are posted before starting to worry.

When you watch The Replacement Killers, Tell me what you think. I thought they did a very good job on it.

Guys there are just DVDEmpire's results....For a REAL EMPIRE results, go to http://www.eproductwars.com/dvd/ to look at how Bluray is really crushing HDDVD on Amazon, who sells more HD movies online than most websites and retailers combined. Transfomers slipped from #4 to #13 overnight....90% of that squares graph is all BLU, meaning BLURAY won in almost every category 99% of the times for the past year!

Dont let a website like DVDEmpire make you think HDDVD has gained any feat! Plus you can easily tell Bluray has won last month and all year long on the same token. This is all because of the Paramount defection and Transformers Preorders, HDDVD dudes love to preorder....The week after the Transformers movie is out, HDDVD will be back to square one with only %30 of the total HD market share on movies!

I would hold Nielson's numbers over dvdempire any day. Like others have said, a few people can swing that percentage so fast its ridiculous.

do a search on DVDempire. Since they started publishing numbers HD DVD has always had a head start earlier in the week, but by the time that the final numbers are in for the week BD leads
