Default GT30 vs VT30

Hey guys, this might be a bit redundant but it is a question that will come up frequently.

Based on the reviews so far, is the extra price for the VT30 worth it? This will be my first big money TV purchase, here are the reviews:

GT30

VT30

http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/panas...1104231092.htm

The UK site claims that they are comparable. Here are my main concerns:

If 24p works properly with GT30 will there be a noticeable difference to the 96hz provided by the VT30?

Is the brightness fluctuation completely eliminated by the THX mode for the GT30?

Do TVs in general need to be compatible with media players such as WD Live (maybe it's a stupid question but I just want to make sure)?

Thanks in advance for any help, and I would be very interested in hearing about any other issues raised.
