Default Amityville Horror, Master & Commander rescheduled

As of yesterday Amityville Horror has been cancelled for its October release. No other information i.e. new release date, cancelled indefinitely etc. has been given at this time.

No this isn't linked information. This is information only given to the distributors-usually once this happens within a week or so Fox will make a public statement. I emailed my rep. to see if the Fox Rep. has any other info. on a new date, etc.

As soon as anything shows up I will post it here.

Ahhh, that would be terrible. I am really looking forward to Robocop.

Unfortunately, you are probably correct.

To be honest I'd rather have them cancel The Amityville Horror and spend more resources on RoboCop. Both Amity films the one from 79 and the remake from a couple of years ago were terrible.

Are "Battle of Britain" and "A Bridge Too Far" still on the list for Nov 6, or were they ever there? They were in the press release, but only "Battle" is at foxbd.com, and neither title is up at Amazon or DVDEmpire.

So that everyone knows this is the only release that has been cancelled-Robocop and all of the others are still set for their October releases.

Fox is known to release some of the best quality in blu-ray and more than likely weren't happy with how the amityville came out since it was an older movie and are probably going to be working for the transfer to come out better than what they have right now.

everything else is still set to go.

Battle for Britain & A Bridge Too Far were never officially announced nor has any retailer received the UPC codes for them, so they are most likely either coming out in December or in 2008. And Amityville is definately delayed indefinately.

Amityville Horror is an MGM/UA title, and Fox only distributes for them so it's possible that MGM just had a production issue with the title and this is the not the start of a new delay barage like early in the year, only time will tell though. If Robocop gets canned too that would make it twice that Robocop hasn't made it to Blu-Ray, which would definately suck.
