Jamie Bamber and Ron Moore Reunite for "17th Precinct"

Frak, yeah! Jamie Bamber has been coaxed back across the pond by his former Battlestar Galactica boss.

The aesthetically blessed Brit — who returned to his native London after BSG ended to headline Law & Order: UK — has landed a lead role in Ron Moore’s NBC pilot 17th Precinct.

The project, an ensemble cop drama with a sci-fi spin, is set in a fictional town where magic and supernatural elements rule over science.

Bamber will play Caolan, an extremely focused crime scene detective. He joins the recently cast Stockard Channing.

Oh absolutely not, it has a fun cast, sounds like an interesting show so NBC will cancel around episode 6 and replacing it "Reality TV Stars Eating Doritos".

you could give them an idea for a new mid season show which would turn out to be a hit and moved to fall. I think this show would do a lot better on Syfy paired with Haven or any number of there shows if they want it to be a hit but of course they won't.

Eamonn Walker has landed the lead in Ron Moore's drama pilot for NBC 17th Precinct, set in the fictional town of Excelsior where magic and supernatural elements rule over science and revolving around the cops at the local 17th Precinct. Walker, repped by ICM and manager Joan Fields, will play Detective Chief Inspector Wilder Blanks. Also cast in the pilot is Jamie Bamber as a homicide detective.

Battlestar Galactica alum James Callis is reuniting with the series' developer-executive producer Rob Moore on Moore's NBC pilot 17th Precinct. The Deep End star Matt Long has also joined the Sony TV-produced project set in the fictional town of Excelsior where magic and supernatural elements rule over science and revolving around the cops at the local 17th Precinct. The description of Callis' character Jeff, a homicide detective at the 17th Precinct: slender, long dark hair, British accent, looks almost exactly like British actor Callis. Long, who recently recurred on Mad Men, will play a rookie detective. Callis is the second Battlestar Galactica co-star to join Moore on 17th Precinct, following the casting of another Brit, Jamie Bamber.

Tricia Helfer Joins the '17th Precinct'

The more, the merrier. Battlestar Galactica developer/ executive producer Ron Moore has tapped a third co-star from the hit Syfy series, Tricia Helfer, to join his new sci-fi project, NBC's pilot 17th Precinct. The Sony TV-produced drama is set in the fictional town of Excelsior where magic and supernatural elements rule over science and revolves around the cops at the local 17th Precinct. Helfer will play Morgana, a necromancer, the magical equivalent of a coroner, who is an expert at manipulating the potions, tools, herbs and spells of her trade.

In the pilot, Helfer joins fellow Battlestar alumni James Callis and Jamie Bamber.

Kristin Kreuk Joins the '17th'

Every couple of days or so, Ronald D. Moore’s 17th Precinct pilot for NBC seems to look even better and better. And the latest add to the supernatural-tinged drama’s cast is Smallville alumna Kristin Kreuk, TVLine has learned.

Kreuk will guest-star in the pilot as Susan Longstreet, the wife of Jamie Bamber‘s crime scene expert. Should the Peacock pick up the series, the role has the potential to go recurring.

Set in the fictional town of Excelsior, where magic and supernatural elements rule over science, 17th Precinct revolves around the lawmen at the local cop shop. In addition to Bamber, the cast features two other Battlestar Galactica regulars: James Callis (playing a homicide detective) and Tricia Helfer (as Morgana the necromancer aka the magical equivalent of a coroner).

Precinct boss Moore, of course, executive-produced Battlestar (as well as its single-season spin-off, Caprica).

The 17th Precinct cast also includes Stockard Channing (The West Wing) and Matt Long (Jack & Bobby).

Since wrapping her Smallville run (as Lana Lang), Kreuk has fronted the big screen’s Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, costarred in the miniseries Ben Hur, and positively sparkled during a multi-episode run on Chuck.

FINALLY someone besides me is in this thread. I was like how is nobody talking about this cast?!?! This is easily the pilot I am most excited for in the fall, second would be Alcatraz.

I've only just heard about it, and I'm already excited for it. James Callis was absolutely fantastic in BSG (still watching it on Blu-ray), and Jamie Bamber too (I was surprised to find out he's British. Almost thought his accent was fake when I saw him in interviews .)

The only thing about this show that does not excite me is Kristen Kreuk. She's a terrible actress. Very excited about the concept, and all the BSG actors.

Tricia Helfer also stars in the series as a coroner who’s an expert in the art of black magic and spell-casting..

Interestingly, Callis, Bamber, and Helfer all starred in Battlestar Galactica. It’s no coincidence the three are working together again – 17th Precinct is being produced by former Battlestar Galactica producer Ronald D. Moore.

Nice to see the trio reunite!
