Digibooks are my preferred packaging when it comes to blu-rays. Warner Bros. used to put out a lot of digibooks, but now since they've introduced their Diamond Luxe Edition I'm concerned that digibooks will be phased out. I think the Diamond Luxe blu-rays are cool, but I'm a digibook person. Maybe all we'll get in the future is the occassional store exclusive.
What do you guys think? And which do you prefer, digibook or Diamond Luxe? |

They actually have some weight to them. They don't look like they would in pictures but they're probably as heavy as some Digibooks.

The hard plastic coating of the Diamond Luxes make them seem more premium and durable than digibooks, but I do lament the loss of hubs. This may be a case of six-of-one, half-a-dozen of the other for me.

Just give me an amaray case. I make due with digibook when it's the only option, but they aren't as sturdy. The glue can dry up, and then there goes the packaging. Same is true for diamond luxe, and all other glued on packaging. Nothing beats a simple amaray case. Not even steelbooks, since they can rust, bend, and scratch.
And what I really hate is when companies aren't consistant in their packaging. I have a shelf just for Criterions and the look is all over the place. Some on plastic, some in all cardboard, some in plastic cases with cardboard shelves. It's not consistant at all. None of these companies can get their act together, not a sngle one is consistant with packaging. It's a mad house I tell you, a mad house! ![]() |

I prefer digibooks, I love the idea of having a little book of supplements that also houses the film itself.
I saw the Diamond Luxe version of Gone with the Wind at Target. And while it looked very nice it seems those cases are a magnet for scratches, even more than steelbooks! |

I love them both, and hope to see many more digibook and Neo Case releases in the future.
Keep 'em coming! ![]() |
