Still got Synapse's 2006 DVD, Never got around to watching it.

Will probably replace it with the BD if it's a decent release.

Was there any significant difference to the Elite DVD? I mainly kept that one for the japanese TV scenes.

Notorious video nasty creator William Lustig and B-Movie legend Larry Cohen return to the dirty streets for a unique high speed collision of the slasher movie and police thriller in Maniac Cop, a blood splattered tale of brutal cop vengeance from beyond the grave.

When reports come in of a man in a police uniform committing gore drenched bloody murder on the city streets, officer Jack Forrest (Bruce Campbell) stands accused. Hopefully the extras from the Synapse disc will be ported over. And what's up with the higher list prices for this and Funhouse?

I also wondered about the price, but my guess is that these 2 titles will not be released by other companies in the near future, so they ask more for "exclusive" titles...

I remember the trailer for this was on The Terminator VHS. I can't remember watching it but I have a memory like Leonard Shelby in Memento.... and I'm afraid of needles so tattooing film titles on my body isn't an option.

I've never seen it. I was always tempted to get the DVD but never got around to it (which I guess is good, since I won't have wasted my money having to replace it for a BD). But 'Maniac Cop'...surely the title says it all?

pretty cool movie, cant wait to see a good version of this. ive only ever seen it on vhs and crappy dvd so im looking forward to the upgrade.

Synapse. Don supervised the new HD master that's being used. US fans might want to wait... their announcement is forthcoming.

I can't remember seeing it. I guess it's been shown on TV at some point, I imagine Bravo would have shown it back in the day.

I wonder if we'll have extra covers and what they will be?

I remember picking both this and the sequel up on vhs about 12 yrs ago for 50p, the first if I remember was a fairly enjoyable cop/slasher flick. I seem to remember Bruce croaking it early on the the 2nd film? I could be wrong I was only 13-14.

I remember watching maniac cop as a kid so i'll defintly buy the movie once its out on blu ray.

Never thought much of this one considering it was a collaboration between Bill Lustig and Larry Cohen. Maybe time has been kind to it, I haven't watched it since the original Elite DVD came out. I'd prefer a release of Larry Cohen's God Told Me To.
