Look like there's a lot more Blu-ray players than HD DVD players in stock. :-)

I saw a blu-ray player at Sam's Club yesterday, but didn't see any HD-DVD players.

no HD players or movies @ my local Costco. I check every time I go, every two weeks or so.

Will Costco carry BR movies though? They've got the players, but I wonder if they'll carry titles.

I remember when Costco had their first batch of DVDs. That's right. They had like 4 titles for DVDs. The first EVER DVD that I bought was, Twister there.

Awesome movie on DVD at the time. Twister would be a great collection for Blu Ray.

Anyways...sorry for the rant.

I agree with u. Twister would look awesome. But we're still waitin on stubborn Universal. BUt movies at COSTCO are always chearper which is why im waitin on them to carry Blu-ray, cause flat out they'll be cheaper than the competition.

Actually Twister was a Warner Brothers movie. I can't wait for this to come out on BD. Hopefully they will have a lossless audio track on it. As far as Costco carrying Blu Ray titles I know they do online, but don't know if they have any in store yet.

Yeah, i looked the other day, although I wasn't looking for Blu-ray players (which they prolly had), I did look for BD movies, and they only carried DVDs and UMDs (the PSP format).
Nothing else. Then again my local Costco stopped carrying my favorite root beer, Old Dominion Root Beer, which was the reason I renewed my membership! >
On the other hand, I did manage to get one of the first Wii consoles out there because of Costco, since few ppl are members, and few members are into gaming, and fewer gaming members would think to look there on it's release day!

My local Costco's have the new Sony 301 player. But, they still only carry HD-DUDs for their hi-def titles. I keep asking when they will have the blu-ray discs in the stores, and I keep hearing "Hopefully, soon."

One of the clerks there told me that there have been a lot of returns of the HD-DUD titles because uninformed customers will buy them thinking that they are standard DVDs and then discovering that they won't play in their DVD players. Fortunately, Blu-ray packing is distinctive enough where a customer of even moderate intelligence may notice that it is not the standard DVD fare.

I too talked to a local Costco store employee and they stated that they are hopefully getting them soon! Also, they do have the new Sony Blu-ray players.

went to my costco this past weekend. didnt look for players, but for movies. found two boxes in the middle of the dvds actually labeled with the bluray logo and slogan and all that, yet the box was filled with BOTH Blurays and HDDVDs. Sure, that wont confuse anyone... way to go costco...

Heh, even the blu-ray boxes look better than the HD-DVD ones.

Maybe Costco is seeing how the players sell before they stock movies. However, I do believe they got the right balance of units.

If I owned my own electronics store, I would be motivated by what makes me a profit, just like the big guys. However, being a small guy I don't want the HD-DUDers complaining I sold them this unit and take it back when blu-ray wins. For heartaches sake, I would just carry blu-ray.

Talking Here too!

I've seen both the players and movies at my Costco here in NC.

And, yes - they are selling. I think the Sony S300 must be very popular.

Costco Chantilly, VA has players and movies. The Movies are the single Warner Bros. titles like Superman II, Blood Diamond, Corpse bride, etc. as well as the 4-pack of Disney movies. I'm there a couple of times a week and the Blu-Ray players seem to be selling faster then the HD-DUD players.
