Default Am I the only one going Blu-ray maniac?

I bought 8 Blu-ray movies since I had the PS3 (23rd march until 31 august)). This month I already bought 5 (+ pre order Pirates 3). I will buy the Harry Potter 1-5 when they come out ...

Everibody getting a sudden increase in their Blu-ray purchase lately?

I've been doing it too.

I started buying before I got my PS3 23rd March (I had about 5 as I didn't have a player until I got my PS3) I now have over 65.

Planet Earth
Open Season (pretty much every CGI movie)
Casino Royale
Pirates of the Caribbean

fall to christmas is going to make a lot of ps3 and bd stand alone owners broke. it will be a blu christmas.

i've been picky about what movies i buy, i don't want to be stuck w/ a shitty transfer like the italian job. so, i'm not adding movies just to bump up my collection, but this fall there's a lot that i want.

I will be buying more on the 18th. But I have seen more blus get added to my collection. Especially with the holidays coming up, I will spend a lot of money on my HD experience.

I've been going crazy with it too trying to buy at least 1 title everyday.

What stinks about x-mass is I always have no idea what to get for others while I see tons of stuff I want to get. I don't think I'm selfish but it makes me feel bad in a way. My kids are 7, 4, and 2 and I stand around in the toy section trying to imagine they would like any of the dolls and figures and stuff and it all looks like junk then I get bored and cruise to the electronics and see mountains of stuff I want,.. makes me feel kind of bad every time.

I've had my PS3 for not quite three weeks. I only own the 2 POTC movies so far, and I'm waiting on my 5 rebate freebies. Right now I've got 7 pre-orders outstanding. I'll pre-order 2001 next week on the 18th, and probably get a current release as well to help out the cause & provide some instant gratification (most likely Memoirs of a Gesiha, a favored book and film of the wife's). All in all it's not a high degree of mania, but it's the best I can do in a single-income family with two kids .

And speaking of the kids: hallelujah! that Disney's been Blu from the get-go. Without Disney & Pixar releases, stepping up to Blu would have been a much harder sell in my house.

Man, I thought it was hard waiting for DVDs to come out. Pre-ordering Blu raises the waiting game to whole new level of antici...pation, don't it?

I'm in the same boat though not as radical as some of you (which I think is great because it's helping blu). In the last couple weeks I bought Superman II and Blood Diamond at Costco, 300 at CC, and Remember the Titans at BB.

I'm planning on buying Kingdom of heaven today at Costco.

I have the Spiderman Trilogy on pre-order from Amazon.

I'm also planning on getting POTC 3.

That's it for now, but there are a number coming up this Christmas season that I will want and get.

I just want Blu to win and soon and hope that my little part will help.

BLU-RAY leads us to be maniac purchasing our favourites movies just to live and enjoy Beyond High Definiton.

I'm proud to be a BLU BLOOD and i'm feeling myself addicted.

I love Blu Ray but i am very picky about my movies, Westerns, War, political thrillers, i absolutly hate chick movies, i wish they would bring out a lot more movies like these instead of movies a have scarcely herd of. Come on BDA throw down some money and lets get somwe BIG titles on our side. Sorry guys, instead of courting movie studios, go for the throat open up the wallet and start paying off companies, that is what HD DVD does.

Sorry for the rant

Talking

yea used to just buy games then i bought POTC 2 on blu ray and fell in love now i don't buy dvd I only buy Blu Ray now. My 2 yo daughter is hooked on TMNT movie and im waitin for Finding Nemo (daughter's favorite movie) and more pixar movies. I think the newer kiddy movies are better the some of the adult movies. Everytime i go out of town to a big city i spend about $200 dollars on BD movies and ps3 games, since i live in a small town that don't even know what blu is. Tryin to talk my dad to get a blu player, he lives in Colorado Springs. Also spreadin the word down here in my town about blu. My cousin got madden 08 on ps2, then he came to my house and seen how different it was on ps3 and fell in love. He went to one of his friends house and told him that it was way different from the ps2, now his friend wants to get a ps3 and so does my cuz!!! He looked like a kid at Christmas!

I got my PS3 middle of July, and up until Paramount bought one a week. Since then I'm averaging three to four a week. This Q4 is looking bad for my bank account.

Buy Casino Royale & The Patriot. Both Blu-rays have great PQ and SQ.

Purchased my PS3 on Aug. 2, 2007. I now have 29 blu-rays. Last movie ordered was earlier today. I'm going to have to start robbing liquor stores like a crack addict to be able to keep this up. Will any of you visit me in video rehab.
