I dont like the way they did the title treatment on their BluRay's front art.

I think labels should start phasing out the blue banner across the top and use that space for the art. Everyone knows it's a Blu-ray, you don't need a logo. Criterion and, so far, Grindhouse, got the ball rolling.[quote]
Looks like Scream heard my prayers. Yeah, those banners gotta go. They weren't needed even when the format was introduced. The smaller size of the packaging was enough. Last edited by Cinema84; 07-05-2015 at 10:59 AM. |

I just picked this up on the recent Best Buy sale. I haven't seen this film in about 30 years. I saw it once on TV and had had the opening scene stuck in my head ever since. I never knew what film it was until I looked up a review for it recently. I'm relieved to finally have an answer and am greatly looking forward to seeing it again.

Really like this one and just wondering why there isn't more discussion about it, especially given the way that certain aspects of it seem to point forward to later, more famous films in the horror genre.
Everything is carefully set up and establishes an effective mood and atmosphere. Obviously, Shirley Knight's excellent work recalls Piper Laurie in Carrie and Kathryn Harrold does well in the lead (why didn't she star in more films?). Watched the Arrow Blu-ray and the presentation is solid for the most part. Lots to enjoy here anyway. |
