I've always been fond to this film. Frank Whaley has his moments in this one. So hoping for a bluray soon!! Anybody else??

Yup but the master is garbage and I don't see universal spending money on it

Career Opportunities definitely should be on Blu-ray. Wasn't it released on DVD only once? And isn't that DVD non-anamorphic? Great film. It was so cool that they filmed inside a real Target store. (Target store #378, 4000 Covington Hwy., Decatur, Georgia)

John Candy's brief (maybe 2 minutes?) role as the Target store manager, and of course, Jennifer Connelly

Universal haven't been shy about getting John Hughes movies out on to blu ray - as Mike says above, the transfer likely doesn't warrant a release, and TBH, perhaps it's absence is for the best, lest we want another Weird Science Universal botch job when they try to 'improve' it....

Shame though, always loved the movie.

This movie will be available this Tuesday on VUDU in HDX. A Blu-Ray would be better, but surely this will be an upgrade over the non-anamorphic DVD. I'm curious to see how the HDX will look.

Like the Netflix version, better than the HDTV but not mind blowing

I certainly hope this does eventually. Its the 25th anniversary, but I doubt it will get any recognition for that. With other catalog titles that have gotten a release this one should too despite of the transfer Hope they can fix it
