United Kingdom Gremlins

From what i understand there are now 3 versions of this in the UK. am i right?
(1) The original white cover release (2) The Christmas style cover release (3) the new white cover release that came out this year

Is there any difference between the discs? extras? i really don't trust website descriptions anymore, they just copy and paste information from previous releases

I think they're all the same disc. The latest one has UV if I remember correctly. There's a fourth release and that's a Steelbook™.

All these re-releases, yet no Gremlins 2 in sight grr. Same thing is happening with Ghostbusters, with the sequel being a no show.

It's Warner and region free so i don't understand why you'd wait and wait when you can own it now.

I was hoping the UK would get a double movie steel like the French one, only in a single width steel, like we got with the recent Zavvi Kill Bill release - both movies in an excellent, standard size steel

Looks like another one is on its way. 30th anniversary edition, maybe?

And at £24.99 it's another preorder bargain that'll have people rushing to order. At that price I hope it doesn't sell out

Come on, we all know the price is going to fall very, very soon. It's just the RRP - the 'proper' price will be along soon

The US are getting a 30th Anniversary Edition so it's safe to assume this is the same - which is fantastic news. Shame they're not putting Gremlins 2 out at the same time (though there's obviously still a chance they might) but I would highly recommend the current US disc for those who are happy tp import - it's a very good release.

A 30th Anniversary Edition of Gremlins would be fantastic.

And then next year, a 25th Anniversary Edition of Gremlins 2: The New Batch.

So it sounds like the US version will be 2-discs but the UK version over at Amazon says 1 disc.

Given amazon.co.uk seem to have nothing except a release date so far, I imagine they just don't have the specs yet. I wouldn't worry just yet - I'm not saying it won't happen but if we're getting the release I imagine it'll just be a straight port. No point re-releasing it and taking away the point of the re-release, it's not like the UK is lacking in different versions of the original release.
