Default Coffee or Tea?

I drink tea all the time...it's nice. Have never liked coffee though. Is just too bitter for my tastes, although it smells nice.

Neither anymore, although I was an avid tea drinker for a few years. Never got into coffee.

Coffee home roasted, never more than a week old, ground by hand daily, brewed with French press using R.O. water at about 200F. I can not stand drinking coffee anywhere else. If you've never had appropriately roasted and brewed coffee, you have no idea what you are missing. I prefer coffee from the Far East islands and from Africa. Every so often monsooned coffee, as well. I never buy Central American beans, because the coffee is too acidic (but there is nothing wrong with it, if that's what you like).

I love tea, preferably Chinese black and Ceylon teas, brewed properly, but the tannins make me sick to my stomach (red wine does the same thing).

Now, an outstanding beverage is Japanese Barley tea.

It's extremely refreshing in summertime, it's a much lighter/crisper flavor than black tea

Ah, a man after my own heart. Ethiopian Harrar (blueberry with a chocolate finish) or Yemen Mocha (spicy/nutty/chocolatey) are my favorites.

Like you, I find coffee made anywhere else to be a poor imitation.

Sweet tea is for true Southerners only. First time I had it my wife was on an intervier in North Carolina and we were offered sweet tea with lunch. We expected iced tea with some sugar in it. Little did we expect... I'd rather have my iced tea without sugar, thank you. Oolong makes a great iced tea.

More a fan of energy drinks, I've recently gotten hard core into the Rockstar Roasted Mocha coffee/energy drink hybrid. I only drink coffee when I'm forced to by circumstances. I very rarely drink tea other then a good hot chai on a winter night.
