No more so than it already was. I still buy the occasional DVD release (mainly TV show stuff that isn't and likely won't be on Blu-Ray).
I don't really count combo packs since for the most part they don't take up more space on the shelf unless they come in the bigger cases like the 4-Disc 3D Disney packs. Most 1 to 3 disc cases are about the same size, so if a movie comes with a DVD copy, it really doesn't effect things at all. The amount of storage space being taken up is the same, so I don't really see how this would be considered "DVDs piling up" unless you are making it a point to take the DVD out of the BD case and store it separately... and if you are doing that, then you are just creating unnecessary problems for yourself. |

I actually no longer have any store bought DVDs. I either have given away, or sold all of the ones that I replaced with blu-rays, and copied the rest to DVD-Rs that I keep in a big disc case.
If you have alot of DVDs that you have replaced with blu-ray, why not sell them, and put that money towards more blu-rays? ![]() |

I sell all of my DVDs that come with BDs except for Animation/Family/Kids titles. They usually fetch a good price if they are still considered a new release. I sold the Sherlock Holmes and Clash of the Titans DVDs (discs only) for about $7 a piece about a month ago.

Unless they stop making them I'll keep buying them the prices are too good. I like my DVD's as much as may Blu-rays anyways. Especially here in the UK when a lot of TV stuff only gets released on DVD.
I've been meaning to go through my VHS stuff though, I got rid of The X Files which I'd recorded off TV a while back as I have the DVD's. I haven't recorded anything on tape in years but I have some fantastic films rotting away (my cat likes to pee on them). I know I'll never watch them but I have an attatchment to them and like an idiot I've recorded some home videos on the end of some tapes and not labelled them. |

We've pretty much stopped buying DVDs, so our collection is no longer growing that much (it's at more or less around 600). We do buy the occasional DVD that's not available on BD (like Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations), but we pretty much stick to BDs whenever possible.
That said, I don't see our DVD collection going anywhere either, as the majority of our DVDs will probably not get upgraded to BD, unless it's an absolute favorite, is real eye candy or the DVD is flawed for whatever reason (usually a non-anamorphic release). Other than for those reasons, I just don't see the point, especially when they'll play on the same machine. |
