Quote:
Neon Eagle Video is proud to present the first ever official HD release of the mind-melting martial arts cult classic Ninja Terminator!

As anyone who has seen the film knows, a description of the plot is almost impossible. More or less: a group of ninjas compete to control the ultimate artifact of their craft – the Golden Ninja Warrior statue! Meanwhile, a secret agent tries to bust up an organized crime ring that is somehow connected to the statue. But really, the plot is beside the point. Rather, it’s the constant display of cheesy insanity onscreen that will keep you hooked from the first minute until the final battle!

After years of ugly-looking and legally dubious copies of the film making the rounds, we are hugely excited to bring to you its first ever authorized disc release in North America, restored from a 4K scan of the original negative and in its proper widescreen aspect ratio. A host of commentaries, interviews, and trailers round out this deluxe release, but the most exciting extra is the inclusion of the original ‘source’ film The Uninvited Guest of the Star Ferry! IFD used this Korean/Taiwanese co-production as the basis for Ninja Terminator and prior to this release it has never been seen anywhere in the western world!

I assume there will later be a more widely available single-disc standard edition without the bonus disc and swag.

Yes, though it will only come once this edition sells out. So it might be a bit down the road.

We honestly did consider it but it's just not economically feasible for us at this time.

Dude, I prefer a 4K disc when possible too. Give the companies a break, though. There might be no HDR grade (another added expense). The manufacturing cost for a 4K disc is about $5 and $1 for Blu-ray.

That should help explain why sometimes a 4K remaster is only on Blu-ray disc. (Sometimes the material just doesn't seem to warrant a 4K disc, either - the scan might look too dark, etc.)

Wrong. I can appreciate the company making the decision they did however when this type of movie has a 4k scan and will probably never have another release it would be nice to have a uhd disc with hdr. This “not everything requires a 4k release..” attitude smacks of the same mentality that blu-ray had early on. You can find old threads making the argument that comedies don’t need blu-ray and only action movies like the Dark Knight warranted a blu-ray release.

Yeah it would be really important to you, it could be your 2nd 4k in your collection. Certainly worth entering a thread where people are excited for a release and making a negative comment.

Is there any print or video interview available online where Richard Harrison speaks about his work with Godfrey Ho?

It's much simpler than that you get more flies w/ honey than w/ vinegar.

Judging by your collection, I’m having a hard time understanding how a title like Ninja Terminator even caught your attention.

I'll be picking this one up. But I'm slightly puzzled why Neon Eagle haven't even announced this on their own website yet.
