Default FYE and Movie Stop have Alliance Titles!

If anyone is interested I am from Massachussets and all of the FYE's and Movie Stops in my area just recently received shipments of Alliance BD titles. they are selling them for $14.99 a piece. Movie Stop sells them as used but they are in fact new I have confirmed this with a store employee who knew. I know some of thier titles are controversal in PQ and AQ but the ones I have picked up I have been pretty impressed with. Especially since all the ones I have seen have not been released in the US and have no street date currently announced. Here's a list of the one's I have seen.

The Butterfly Effect (Director's Cut even though it doesn't say it with DTS-MA 1080p)
Trainspotting (International cut with DTS-MA 1080p)
Final Destination 3 (Open matte but not cropped, I have compared it to my DVD and I can say I actually think the 2.35:1 ratio looks cramped by comparison, DTS-MA 1080p)
From Dusk Till Dawn (DTS-MA 1080p)
Final Destination 2 (I have not found this one in store but I ordered it from Amazon.ca to complete my set DTS-MA 1080p)

Those are the ones I purchased however I have seen these in store.

Swingers
Sin City (Bare Bones)
Se7en (weary of this one because it is 1080i and 1.78:1 instead of 2.35:1)
Made
Lucky Number Slevin
The Cell
Boiler Room
Reindeer Games
Kill Bill 1
Kill Bill 2 (I think these are exactly the same as the US releases)

I can't remember anymore but those are the ones I have come in contact with. Not a bad price for movies we can't get in the US. No bonus features on any of the ones I bought but i can't complain about anything else. From Dusk Till Dawn has a very dynamic mix and the dialogue is soft and music loud but I seem to remember the DVD being the same way. I was psyched that The Butterfly Effect ended up being the director's cut since that version is far better than theatrical. Anyway that's all I got for you. I hope that helps someone out.

Yeah I work at FYE in Oregon and we received a lot of Alliance titles the other day. Including Blade, Blade 2, Made, Seven, Lucky Number Slevin, Sin City, several others I can't quite remember. I'm sure there will be better releases for these titles down the road, but For 15 bucks it's not bad.

The FYE at the Provo Towncenter Mall (Provo, Utah) I noticed has all 3 blade movies for 14.99.

No I didn't see that one for sure, I would have picked it up myself. I'll see if we have any on order today.

FYE's prices suck. Not only are their Blu-ray titles overpriced but they don't have crap for titles. To make matters worse, the Blade movies would be nice to own but those are ridiculously overpriced as well not to mention that they arehorrible transfers.

I've never seen the blade movies. Are they not worth 14.99? Is 9.99 a good blind buy price?

Definitely want to pick up From Dusk Till Dawn. Love that movie and judging by the screencaps I've seen, it looks awesome.

Thanks for the link. The quality is not that great it seems, but how enjoyable are the movies?

They're fun vampire/action flicks. I'm waiting for a better release from WB though.

Warner Brothers did not release the Blade movies and neither did New Line. Alliance released the movies to Blu-ray. The movies all retail for $30-40 for each movie.

For a trilogy of movies that are so overpriced with their crappy transfer ... I just refuse to buy them.

FYI if you go looking for any of these, they aren't in with the rest of the Blu-rays. They're on the wall, usually where they are demoing Blu-rays and HD picture.

Default Check the back cover carefully!

I bought From Dusk Till Dawn & Se7en from the MovieStop here in N.E. Florida a couple of weeks ago. I got them home, opened the cases and saw thru the case there was the same cover only in French, looked at the outside cover better only to discover they were Canadian imports! Even tho Se7en was 1080i, it still looked pretty good, very sharp, a bit grainy tho.
