Default MTV's The Inbetweeners

MTV orders 'The Inbetweeners' US

Quote:
MTV has ordered a full season of the US version of The Inbetweeners.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the network announced that 12 episodes of the comedy starring Bubba Lewis, Joey Pollari, Zack Pearlman and Mark L. Young will premiere on the channel sometime in 2012.

The series is a Stateside adaptation of the hit UK sitcom telling the story of four teenage friends, played in the original by Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas.

Commenting on the decision, MTV's head of programming David Janollari said: "It's got an incredibly strong and authentic young voice. We were really successful in adapting it for our audience and making it sound like a quintessentially American suburban experience."

The Inbetweeners will join new series Teen Wolf, This Is Awkward and I Just Want My Pants Back, as well as animated program Good Vibes and a new incarnation of Beavis and Butthead.

Bird recently revealed that he was shocked by the success of The Inbetweeners.

A film based on the British series is currently in production and will open in cinemas on August 19.
Not looking forward to this at all. One of the funniest comedies I have ever seen with all it's foul language and British attitude. and MTV will butcher the hell out of it. Plus the cast was what made this show so amazing and that's something the US cast will never be able to capture.
