Default Adam's Living Room Home Theater

This is a basic, budget home theater that I put together over the course of 2010. Going in order of purchase, it consists of...

1. Wii, Slim PS2, VCR. Already had these before starting.

2. Techcraft FLEX37WB TV table. This was literally the only table with a built-in mount that was less than 40 inches wide, which was the available space. Wall-mounting was not an option as the house is old - built the year the Titanic sank. This table temporarily held the old CRT TV, its top shelf weight capacity is exactly the same as the weight of the old TV.

3. Samsung LN40C630 LCD HDTV. It's exactly as wide as the wall behind the TV table, but still really too small for the room.

4. Samsung BD-C5500 Blu-ray player

5. Klipsch RB-10 bookshelf speakers. These started out on the TV table powered by an old receiver, then moved to the final front speaker locations, and finally to their permanent role as surrounds.

6. Denon AVR-591 receiver

7. Elemental Designs A2-300 subwoofer

8. Klipsch RB-61 bookshelf speakers and RC-52 center speaker. These were purchased used, for $500 total (plus shipping) from someone in Canada.

9. Cisco RNG-150 Comcast cable box

10. Logitech Harmony One remote. A Christmas present!

At this point it's basically complete, but I plan on adding a Denon iPod dock at some point.

More details in the gallery pic descriptions! Questions and comments are welcome.

Good job on what appears to be difficult space issues!

I think I recognized your craziness followed by me getting sick....

J/k Lawrence. You have nice speakers. I myself had them once upon a time.

I know you're just kidding.

If I were a single man, the Klipsch Palladiums would be be flanking my racks!

Yep, it was quite hard finding the exact right table and TV that would fit in the available space and fill as much of it as possible. The other big caveat is that I can't wall-mount anything, hence the less than ideal placement of the surrounds. They even have a screw hole to accept a wall-mount bracket. The front left speaker and its stand need to be moved to get into the closet, which fortunately isn't often.

I hear ya If I had the money for it and appropriate room to work with, I'd put together a dedicated HT room with Klipschorns for fronts, a La Scala for the center, and probably Heresys for surrounds. Subwoofer? Elemental Designs A7-900, maybe two.
