Default Sony S580 Networking issues?

My friends bought a new tv, laptop, blu-ray player & DSL internet connection; and I got to go hook it all up for them last night. I had to start from the ground up as everything was still sealed in the boxes including the AT&T DSL gateway. I had zero issues setting everything up... DSL setup is ALOT more advanced and user friendly than the last time I did it a few years ago. Everything connected to the wireless network just fine. This was two laptops, four smartphones, the blu-ray player and a printer.... all using wi-fi.

Everything maintained a steady connection EXCEPT for the Sony S580 BDP. Every time you shut the player off and on again, you had to go back through the wi-fi setup to get it to reconnect to the network. This was VERY similar to the networking issues I had when I had a PS3.

Admittedly, I only spent a couple of hours with them and didn't really get to delve into the wi-fi settings much but the settings I did check into all looked fine and signal strength at the BDP was full bars according to the laptop that was right by it. None of the other wi-fi devices had any trouble reconnecting to the network after rebooting, so I'm inclined at this point to believe the issue may be with the BDP.

Does anyone else have this player, and are you using wi-fi? If so, have you had any similar issues? If so, have you been able to solve them, and how? I'm going to have to go back this weekend and see if I can find the issue... so I'm trying to do some background work now. This is their first hdtv and bd player.... so I REALLY hate that they are having this issue.

I forgot to mention... they've dumped their cable service and are planning on relying on streaming Hulu, Netflix etc from this particular player for the majority of their entertainment needs... imperative I find a fix soon.
