Default HTPC question

Hi, as a complete novice to media centres and such like i have a question i hope someone can answer. Will the new ultraviolet format coming soon allow ripping of dvds and blurays to a HTPC or such device in future. I know it is currently possible to rip both dvd and bluray but am not sure if the new Ultraviolet format still allows this when it is released. There are plans for ripping to be allowed in the UK so i can't see why Ultraviolet would stop it but i am not sure.
Any answers would be appreciated.

thanks

For those readers who don't know what Ultraviolet is, here is the link:

http://www.uvvu.com/index.php

I had no idea what it was, not sure anyone can give your an actual answer to your question though, I would think everything would be speculation until it makes it into the wild.

The footnote on the website says this about physical discs:

Quote:
*Disc-copy rights will be part of an optional disc/download bundle. Alternative physical
media formats may be offered instead of DVD.
That sounds to me as if there would be no changes as long as the movies continue to get released on blu ray/dvd. If the relesae in another format then you could have trouble?
