Mod Edit: Sony BDP-CX960 would not play Avatar
Ok. After about an hour of speaking with Sony tech support guys at different levels (level 1 was pathetic, specialists actually paid attention and knew something), I figured this one out on my own while on hold. 1. Load a blu ray other than avatar 2. go back to the home menu, system settings, and disable internet of any kind. 3. go to bd data folder. delete the shared cache. also delete the bd data for avatar itself. 4. disable bd live or any extra bd features. 5. load avatar, and it will play normally. Sort of pathetic the 1000 dollar "mega changer" can't play what my laptop has no problem with...but such is life. This fix also works with a few other titles I had issues with, IE the hangover, and Machete (I'm not ashamed to admit I rented that). Hopefully this helps somebody, because I was starting to lose my calm a little bit with the whole process. Last edited by Blu Titan; 04-10-2011 at 02:39 AM. Reason: Move post to a new thread for BDP-CX960 |
