Talking The Official "Lights Out" Discussion Thread

This one has been on my watch list for the longest time, so I figured I should just finally start a thread for it. I believe FX still plans to debut this in late December when Sons of Anarchy and Terriers have concluded their seasons. So this should fill the void for me leading right on into the next season of Justified.

Quote:
It centers on Patrick "Lights Out" Leary (McCallany), an aging former heavyweight boxing champion who struggles to find his identity and support his wife and three daughters after his fighting days are over, leading him to take a job as a legbreaker, collecting on unpaid gambling debts. He is diagnosed with pugilistic dementia, a neurological disorder that affects boxers who receive multiple blows to the head, so he decides he'll need to make another big payday to support himself and his family before his brain turns to jelly. Clark Johnson (The Shield, The Wire) directed the pilot episode.

Default Lights Out: New FX Series

Quote:
Lights Out, from Executive Producer/Showrunner Warren Leight (In Treatment) and Creator/Executive Producer Justin Zackham (The Bucket List), stars Holt McCallany (CSI: Miami) as an aging former heavyweight boxing champion who struggles to find his identity and support his wife and three daughters after retiring from the ring. Financial problems leave him at a perilous crossroads – battling the urge to return to boxing or reluctantly accepting a job as a brutal and intimidating debt collector. Catherine McCormack (Braveheart) co-stars as “Theresa Leary,” Lights’ wife who is finishing her medical residency; Pablo Schreiber (Law & Order) as “Johnny Leary, Lights’ brother and business manager whom Lights put through college; and Stacy Keach (Fat City) as “Pops,” Lights’ father and former trainer who runs the boxing gym owned by Lights. Clark Johnson (The Shield, The Wire) and Norberto Barba (In Treatment, CSI: NY) directed the pilot episode. Phillip Noyce (Salt) and Ross Fineman are also Executive Producers. Lights Out is produced by Fox Television Studios and FX Productions.
The people involved have me very intrigued especially Phillip Noyce.

I did in fact make a thread for this last month Lights Out I was actually just coming here to bump it up since they FINALLY unveiled the promo. I first read about this in the Spring, and bookmarked all the photo sites and finally pulled the trigger and started the thread, lol.

Saw the first promo last night and it really looked a lot better than I had even expected. I had just started re-watching the Wire a few weeks back and during season 2 I was thinking about how I hadn't seen liev Schreiber's little brother Pablo who starred ever since season 2 ended, so I was very pleased to see him heavily featured in the fist trailer for this show, which BTW is set to premiere in January. I will update if I can find the trailer anywhere.

No worries, I'm just glad there is finally someone else looking forward to this besides me. I'm surprised I can't find that trailer anywhere yet, not even YouTube has it.

Stacey Keach sure is lookin pretty damn old too.

Everyday on FX I see more and more promos for this show. I cannot wait until January. Between this in January and Justified in February, FX is going to have one very solid winter. I am so stoked!

Just like with Justified FX is really amping up the promos. I think there are probably 3 different ones I see each week. This is going to be a great show.

Well Justified was on Mondays last season. For some reason I had remembered it being Tuesdays or Wednesdays, but I just checked and they all aired Mondays, so I would assume it will continue that trend this year.

Well than maybe they will do Lights Out on Tuesdays and Justified on Wednesdays, like they do with SOA and Terriers.

It's been done in so many movies, I just can't even consider watching the same storyline again.
