Does anyone know why this disappeared from Amazon? Originally they had it as a March 26 release. Best Buy, B&N, and some others still have it listed for that date as does Amazon.ca. Amazon UK originally had it for a March 25 release but now it shows as June 3 there.
Sold my DVD when the blu-ray was out up for pre-order, so anxious to get this again. Probably my most watched disc. |

Both list as June 4th release date. At DVD Planet: $15.69 http://www.dvdplanet.com/buy/bluray/...f-trap_2562265 CD Universe $15.85 http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=8901878 I also found a listing, with no price, on Amazon of a blu-ray + 2 CD's. It looks like a placeholder ![]() Anyone with any insight more insight? ![]() |

For anyone who’s a concert blu-ray collector like myself, or just a Doobies fan, I’ll try to give my take of their Live At Wolf Trap BD that came out today. Recorded at Wolf Trap Performing Arts in Virginia, 2004. Most of the notable characters are present, but no Michael MacDonald which, on a personal note, was fine with me. It’s a 23 song set, the lack of White Sun the only song I really missed. The first song is Rockin’ Down The Highway with the intro being a motorcycle running through the 5.1 system at random, very cool.
So just a little about the sound and video: both are stellar. Concerts on blu-ray I find to be hit or miss, mostly miss actually, when it comes to the video presentation. Many are set up with the live audience in mind, and sometimes don’t come off well to the camera’s eye (the dreaded “stage bathed in blue light” comes to mind). This one is certainly nothing like that, the stage is very well lit and I found the PQ to be excellent. One more thing about the video portion; the editing is well done, and you don’t have to watch through a stroke inducing camera change every 1.5 seconds. The sound is also top notch. 11 in the band that night in all, including 3 in the horn section. The guitar work is just phenomenal, and the LFE gets a nice workout with the kick drum and bass guitar. Harmonies on “Black Water” are as great as I remember and are reproduced here flawlessly. Sound options are a default LPCM stereo track and an awesome DTS-MA 5.1 track. Rare to find a concert with video AND audio both this good. Lots of interviews as well. Eagle Rock does a good job, mostly, with concert videos and this is certainly one of their better ones, even though it was delayed a couple of times. Also available in DVD, btw. I paid $14.99 in Canada for it today, I consider it “well bought”. Hope this might help someone who’s interested… ![]() |

Watching/listening to this right now and it's great as usual. The blu-ray just kicks all the quality up a notch or two or three. This concert is an excellent performance with a great collection of songs. The editing is really good because it adds a sense of movement and excitement without feeling jumpy. Pat Simmons and Tom Johnston are as good or better than ever, John McFee amazes playing 5 or 6 different instruments, 3 drummers blend together without sounding drum heavy, and Marc Russo's sax solos and the horn section provide a ton of musical styles and variety. I had the DVD prior to this BD and it's easily the most watched thing I have. So glad it's finally out after a 2+ month delay.

One oddity to this release is a carry over from the DVD. There are 3-4 songs that have a small PiP in the lower left corner for about the first 10 seconds of the song. On the DVD you could press select and it would take you to an interview clip about the song. That function doesn't seem active on the BD, at least I wasn't able to activate it.
There are a bunch of nice extras (interviews, bonus live tracks from some other concert) that the DVD didn't have. I never get tired of listening to their music - it's just really timeless for me. |

Still not impressed with the audio on this one. There are a great many BR concerts that I have that are a lot better. For instance I put on the Eagles directly after this and there was no comparison. The sound on the Eagles BR was far superior. If you already have the DVD do not buy the BR expecting an audio upgrade as it is not happening. The video is quite a bit better than the DVD is though.
