Universal Studios The Mummy 3D Blu-ray (2017) [Region Free]

The Mummy 3D Blu-ray

Universal has a new poster for The Mummy. This one is more encouraging as it now shows the movie coming out in IMAX 3D.

So much better than this one being released in 3D on Blu ray in May:

Great!

I checked, could still be a mix-up, but this does seem to be their official twitter.

I hope it's nothing like those Brendan Fraser movies.

I think it'll be something like those Tom Cruise movies.

(Not hatin' -- I can't wait to see it.)

Other than this, I haven't seen anything 3D related about the Mummy. Fingers crossed.

Thumbs up

3D definitely confirmed, thanks Rickstar.
Imax had it as 3D on their site a couple months ago, then they removed it later which wasn't too hopeful. Good to see it's an official poster and not a fan poster.

That 3D Mummy poster link was found directly on this page from Universal:

Looks like 3D is now officially confirmed.

Both Twitter and Facebook pages show 3D.

And we now have a sports related trailer indicating Real D 3D.

Creature From The Black Lagoon script by the guy who wrote "Gangster Squad." I haven't seen that movie, is it any good? Anyway, I hope all of the Universal remakes do as well as Marvel is doing with their cinematic universe. I've been waiting for CFTBL to be redone and I hope it's done right.

Ganster Squad was a decent, entertaining movie, though I have yet to buy it on video after seeing it in theaters. Eventually I'll get to it. It'll be interesting to see how Creature will be handled as a remake. Will they go for a Wolfman style with Benicio del Toro? If they'll lean more towards horror or action will be interesting. In this case, The Mummy is heavily leaning towards supernatural Action, and unfortunately, not attempting horror. I'd love to see a Mummy film with a slow, shambling Mummy whose cold grip would be fatal.

I'll check this new Mummy out just for the entertainment factor and especially the 3D, but it reminds me of Silent Hill Revelation 3D, where the girl is walking down the street, unleashing her fury.

Hopefully the don't cut back to the shoot like in silent hill revelations. If the only thing similar is that the 3d is well done, then i'll be happy. I really tried to like Revelations, I like 3d and am a huge fan of the IP. But it was just terrible in every way bar the quality of the 3d.

I watched it again during Halloween 2016, and the movie's best horror and 3D scene (which seems to be inspired by the 1979's Tourist Trap film starring Chuck Conners (The Rifleman) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tourist_Trap_(film).
The few very strong 3D pop outs in SHRevelations are amazing though. As a horror movie though, I never felt afraid at any time, just not enough tension in this film as Heather just wanders around.

Thanks. From the trailer, Mummy's 3D looks like a nice medium layered 3D conversion. Great to finally see these newer trailers in 3D since theaters seem to be showing 3D movie trailers in 2D more often now, for the past year or so from my experience.

The Mummy seems like mostly an action movie with some slight horror references added in there, kind of like how Resident Evil or Underworld handles it. Not pure horror, more like action horror. I'll check it out.

I'm pretty sure only certain countries are getting this in 3d at this point

I'm on the same boat with you on Gangster Squad. I actually say it at the early Thursday night show. It was entertaining. I saw it more of an R rated version of Dick Tracy. I actually own the Blu-ray (bought it at a thrift store for $3.00.)

When I heard that Universal was reinventing its Monster series, I was concerned how it would be handled but I'm hoping for best.
This new Mummy I'm curious to see because it looks like it's going back to its horror roots with some added action.

I actually saw a trailer of this movie, and it actually said 3d! Then, I looked for tickets around me, on release date, and it even comes out in IMAX 3d

Yes, we'll see how The Mummy turns out. It looks like they're going for a reboot of the Mummy action series with Brendan Fraser, only this time without as much humor.

Yes, good to see this has been announced for 3D. For awhile there, there was no mention of it.

Saw a trailer before Alien Covenant that made me more interested in seeing The Mummy. The other Mummy trailers gave no inspiration whatsoever.
