If either Fox or Sony had the rights to both films and released a boxset, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

I strongly disagree, while it was not as good as the original by a long shot it was not half as bad as most people make it out to be in my opinion.

Julie Benz's character ruins what could have been a decent sequel.

I wanted so badly to like the sequel, but Julie Benz's performance was so singularly awful throughout the film that I actually felt sorry for her. When she donned the cowboy hat and chaps I finally had to hit pause and debate with myself as to whether or not it was worth it to continue. I did finish the film, but it just never got better.

I was really surprised, as I loved her work in Dexter and Buffy. It was either a really bad casting fit or just awful writing for her character. I'm still not sure which, but it completely torpedoes the film. What the film needed was no her and more Billy Connolly.

EDIT: Heh. DreamScar beat me by seconds.

Ding dong mother****er, ding dong! !

I liked the first the best, second was a decent follow up. Wish they would hurry up and finish it with a third film now that the ending of two was the way it ended.

It was definitely bad writing for Benz that ruined things. She's a good actress, but Duffy tried to make her Smecker 2.0 while claiming she was in it because having Smecker would be too much like the first movie. Now, the grating accent may have been her contribution (or not), which just amplified the awful writing.

Let's not even go into the overuse of the narration within the action scenes. It was cool in the first movie, but Duffy raped any coolness when he relied on it too much and turned it into just another annoying gimmick.

I honestly really like the sequel. Is it the first? No. But it was a damn good follow up I thought. I think it works even better watched back to back with the first. Here's hoping Duffy makes a third and finishes the story...

Boondock Saints in in my all time top 10 favorite movie list.

Boondock Saints 2 is the worst movie I had the privilige to see in a theatre, and in my worst top 10 of all time.
And that is the case even though I really wanted to like it, even gave it a second chance.

I hope they make 3rd one though and I will see it regardless.

oh god, that cover art is terrible. It looks like a bootleg or something.

I'm a sucker for anniversary editions and documentaries though.

As for II, I wanted to like it, went in with low expectations, but was still disappointed. Looking at Julie was probably the best part of the movie...hearing her was one of the worst parts. What is it with her and accents?? (see Punisher: War Zone)

I never picked up the 1st release, so it wouldn't hurt to get this re-release!

It was actually Peter Fonda's performance that made the movie suffer for me.

And they are still not including "Overnight", what a shame.

Completist that I am, I will probably get this, especially if it's released at a cheap price.

While I can see WHY they aren't including Overnight, I agree that I would love for it to be included in HD...
