Blinking red light - ps3

It shut off, blinking red light, now when I try to turn it on it turns green then goes off and blinks red ... is it broken? is there anything I can do to salvage the data if it is?

I earned sooooo many trophies since the PSN was down, never got a chance to sync them haaaaard ones too

Sounds like the YLoD syndrome. There's a thread on here that shows you how to repair it yourself. I had mine fixed by a small computer shop for £40 here in the UK when it happened to mine, there must be similar places in the US that can do the same. Worked perfectly when I got it back (and still does) and I didn't lose anything

I left it alone all night and it turned on normal this morning. Im gonna back up my HD asap and just not touch it until then. I, just happy it turned on at all!

Ill try fixing it after everything is safely backed up, thanks
