Please share your Onkyo receiver's general volume levels when playing back DVDs or Blu-rays, and provide the kinds of "tweaks" that may affect these levels (of course, everyone will have varying calibration settings due to rooms, areas, tastes, gear, etc. but I'm just looking for general feedback) such as "IntelliVolume" settings and "+dB" speaker calibration trims, etc. Also, preferably, please, provide the playback volume level in "absolute" value rather than "relative" as I do not have an Onkyo AVR with THX certification and a relative volume scale to compare to. Thank you!
I'll start: My 605 has "+dB" speaker calibration settings on all channels, and I am also running the IntelliVolume input level trim for the "DVD" input (which my BD player is connected to via HDMI 1) at "+10dB." My normal DVD and Blu-ray playback volume levels are anywhere from 40 to high 40s, depending on time of night, mood of my spouse or material -- some material needs more gain, some less, and sometimes I even drop down into the "30"'s if the volume is bothering my wife. But sometimes it does seem like my AVR could use more push beyond the high "40"s and into the "50"s... ![]() ![]() ![]() Let's hear from you other Onkyo fans and owners! |
