Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters

Best Buy had a demo for this running, so I messed around with it for a little bit. I'm sure it'll come as a surprise that this game sucks. You can't fly anytime you want, as the game is split into on-foot levels and flying levels. The on foot stuff was so boring and the enemies so generic and uninspired that I stopped playing it after just a couple of minutes and switched to a flight level. I can't really say that that was much better, as again the ring constructs are totally uninspired and the controls are kind of wonky. You basically just fly around in a linear level and shoot targets with simple blasts of green energy or ring-created missiles. Missiles. Out of everything cool you could come up with, you have missiles. Your "super move" is transforming into a jet. Whoo. Graphics-wise, some of it looks pretty cool, but the GL character model looks like it was slapped together for a college project, and as I said before the enemies are very generic and uninspired. Obviously I can't judge the entirety of the game based on a short demo, but I didn't see any redeeming qualities. Shame, I've been hoping to get a good GL game since I was in sixth grade. So far his best appearance in video game form is still MK vs. DC.
