None. Slasher flicks are the lowest form of the horror genre...but especially Friday the 13th. At least Nightmare had some intelligence behind it and Halloween was directed by a legend and had decent acting.

That said....I did enjoy the TV series even though it had nothing to do with the movies...

I was impressed with the transfer on the first Friday the 13th which i thought looked marvelous for a low budget,31 year ol movie but part 2 & 3 are downright fugly looking ,my upcoverted DVD's look just as good if not a tad better than them.

Hopefully Paramount will get us a uncut boxset of the first 8 films (someday) but i am highly doubting it,Paramount seems to hate there Horror catalog movies as well as any catalog movie in that case. Another prime example was My Bloody Valentine (1981) which i cannot belive how good it looks but was distributed by Lionsgate which did a excellent job and even got the uncut version which Paramount said never existed just like tyey say with Friday part 2.

Probably in the minority here, but I think Freddy Vs. Jason is definitely worth a spin. Its the only Friday where I actually enjoyed "Zombie Jason" (as opposed to "Stalker Jason" of parts 1-4). Plus, I think its a modern day miracle how they made Jason sympathetic. Somehow I always feel a bit sorry for him by the end.

Is the remake any good?

I haven't seen that one yet.

I'll be watching Jason goes to Hell in about an hour so excited I haven't seen it in about 15 years.

I didn't say slasher films are garbage I said they're the lowest form of horror movies. As in the lowest common denominator. But I also said that some were better than others in that they consisted of more than just some unstoppable bad guy with a machete killing teens having sex.

Well, your original post didn't specify some or most. It said slasher films are the lowest form of horror, followed by giving ANOES and Halloween a mulligan, which is your opinion given as a matter of fact, which my sarcastic response was ment to illustrate. I believe the forum topic is which FT13th films are you gonna watch on the 13th, with no post script of "or post your disdain for slashers in general or Friday The 13th specifically". Hows about not coming to someone elses party and pissing in the punch bowl.

On topic, I'm gonna do at least the first 3 BDs, and might pop in Jason X just cuz I haven't watched it in ages (I wonder if David Cronenberg thinks slashers are the lowest form of horror....seeing as he gets killed by Jason and all....).
