Default Both Samsung 1500 and 1600 sound suddenly gone

In the last month both my Samsung blu ray players have lost sound. They both have the latest firmware and nothing was changed. The only thing that is a little consistent in both cases is that both times it happened when I tried to play a DVD, but I have played plenty of dvd's on both blu ray players. Does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks

My Samsung BD-P1500 has been loosing sound for about a year. I started with update 2.4. I have contacted Samsung, sent many threads in forums, even sent messages via YouTube, with no help. It has the most recent firmware 3.0, and it still loses sound often. One thing for sure when it happens I turn off the player, wait 5 minutes, turn it on again and voila sound. I just live with it now. This player has been plagued with little problems like that.

I will have to try that out when I get home. I thought to try other movies and ones that had previous played suddenly would not. I hope to get a new blu ray for a B-day or Christmas, because as you pointed out, lots of problems. I actually downgraded my netflix account so I would not get blu-rays anymore because too often they didn't work great. Thanks for that tip. I can't believe I didn't think of it.

I've had several Samsung blu-ray models including the following from newest to oldest model number

BD-C7500 - Piece of crap!
BDP-4600 - Piece of crap!
BDP-1500 - Piece of crap!
BDP-1200 - Piece of crap!

Do you see a pattern here. All have been plauged with problems from sound fallout to just not playing a disc and I always kept the latest firmware update when Samsung even bothered to have an update. So I've defaulted to the tried and true PS3 which totally rocks. Just downloaded the VUDU app and it's even sweeter on the PS3 than the BD-C7500. I have a Samsung LED. Will be getting a Sony XBR-65HX929 as soon as they are available. Anyone wanna buy a Samsung LED?
